International Phycological Congresses have been run since 1982, convened every four years by the International Phycological Society. IPCs are large international conferences covering all aspects of algal biology. They are vibrant venues gathering phycologists from all around the world, in which the most recent and exciting advances in algal research are presented.
In September 2029 the International Phycological Congress will be held for the first time in Italy, in the city of Rimini. Located on the northern Adriatic coast of Italy, Rimini is a popular tourist destination, well known as a welcoming and hospitable city. Since the mid-1970s, the destination has established itself as an important hub for business tourism, offering state-of-the-art facilities for high-level conferences and conventions.
The 14th International Phycological Congress will be held at the Palacongressi di Rimini, a large, modern and environmentally friendly facility with capacity to host conferences with up to 3,000 participants.
